In observance of World Menopause Day this coming October 18, 2024, UPAA Iloilo Chapter, in cooperation with 9 and Beyond Iloilo, Your Parenting Partner, offers this one-on-one recorded interview with UPV alumna (BS Biology and Master of Management in Business Management), Dr. Gerlie Pador-Gelito, about the basics of menopause – an oft-neglected discussion about women’s health.
Dr. Gelito is an obstetrician and gynecologist, a Fellow of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Philippine Society for Reproductive Medicine, Philippine Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy and Regional Director for Western Visayas, Philippine Society of Climacteric Medicine. She’s also an Assistant Professor at the West Visayas State University College of Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree as well as Clinical Professor at the West Visayas State University Medical Center.
In line with this year’s theme, an informed woman with access to evidence-based knowledge and health care and is aware of what’s happening to her body can empower them to make fully-informed midlife health choices especially during this stage of their lives.
